Selecting water bodies from one layer by attributes from another layer

All of my data is in vector format in a geodatabse.

I am attempting to select bodies of water that are a certain distance away from roads-I have that down with the select by location tool. I also need to select from these bodies of water that include 2 attributes from another layer and I am not sure how to do this. For example, I need to select bodies of water from that layer that contain any amount of both attribute A and attribute B from the substrate layer. How do I do this? I am a little lost and not sure if I can do this with the select by attribute tool.
