I have a table with over 400,000 records. I have a blank field at the end. I join a different table based on a field, then any select, field calculate, etc takes 30+ minutes. Any ideas how to increase the speed? In the past I have tinkered with adding indexes, but my results were that it takes longer to add the index and do a process than doing the process by itself...
