Sorting spatial joins

Hello All,

I am working with transportation data geocoded to street center-lines. When I spatially join the point datasets to the roads, I get results that double count points at an intersection. For example, if there is a point at the corner of North Ave and Charles St, the spatial join results count that point as an occurrence at both streets. Is there any way to parse this out and sort the results so that a point already attributed to one feature is not counted at another?
