Create Geostatistical layer with configuration file set with inline variables

Hi everyone,

I've been spending hours and days trying to figure out this.

I've to create a geoprocessing, published via ArcGIS Server, that can create a geostatistical layer based on various Input geostatistical model sources.

The end user would have to select the kind of conguration he wants, and the specified configuration file (xml) would then be used.

The point is, ive tried the following with no success, all working well on ArcMAP, and failing miserably once published:

- Using a calculate value tool, that can process user input and output the configuration file path, that is then used via inline variable in the Create Geostastical Layer tool.

- Using a calculate value tool, that can process user input and output a file variable for the configuration file, that is then used via inline variable in the Create Geostastical Layer tool.

The service is correctly published, but while trying to execute, it fails on start up, and only says Nothing else can be obtained from the log.

I've done all i could to make sure all the settings and environnements are correct.

- I createg a log tool, that i use in the model, that can print a file path, just to make sure the calculated file path is ok.
- The configuration file is copied exactly in the same directories locally and on the server.
- If i set the file name directly in the Create Geostastical Layer tool, it works like a charm
- Setting it after a Calculate Value just does'nt make it.

It looks like on startup, a check is made on the Create Geoprocessing Layer tool, and if it does'nt sees the configuration file, it throws up the error, not taking in account all the preceding steps that can provide the required informations.

I'm desparate .....


Please, have someone tried this with success ?
