I have a map with two layers: all US counties (polygons) and one point layer with the internal latitude and longitude of all US census tracts. I want to compute for each census tract point the closest distance to the border of the county it is in. I first converted the polygon layer to a line layer. Then I tried using the NEAR tool using as input features the point layer and near features the line layer. It works fine, but my output is in the unit of the coordinate system of the input features, which is GCS_North_American_1983 and hence degrees. I would want the distances to be in kilometers, how can I change this?
