Intermediate data

Hi, I'm newish to model builder and I built a huge and complicated model and ran it, not knowing that Arc automatically decides that some things are intermediate data and sends them somewhere that isn't where you wanted them to go. Fortunately I ran it in the model builder window so they shouldn't have been deleted, but I can't find them. It says the scratch and current workspaces are the default geodatabase, but the files aren't in there. They're also not in any of the files of the input data and I couldn't find them in any temp folders. My guess is that they're in some temp folder I don't know about. Does anyone have any file path examples that could help me out?
